After free time, we played a game called Spokes. We set up eight tarps as slide and slides in an asterisk shape. Each time lined up behind their tarp. Students were numbered off, and then had to run around the circle, crawl under their teammates’ legs, and slide down the tarp. When they reached the center of the circle, they tried to grab one of three exercise balls for points. We then dismissed right to free time, which was perfect, since many students were already in their suits.
During free time, students were able to swim, ride the water slide, get blobbed, and paddle in canoes, kayaks, or paddleboats. Besides the waterfront, we also had the Zipline open! Students got to zoom across the lake. A lot of students also hung out in the Red Canoe, which is a snack shop with games like pool and carpetball. Of course, Octoball was a big favorite too!
We had dinner afterward, then headed out to the field for our game called Medal Battle. The teams had bases set up all around camp, and they had to find as many of the 400 hidden medals as possible and bring them back to their team base. Each team also had a few students armed with flour-filled pantyhose, and they ran around tagging other students. Once tagged, a student had to get rinsed off with a super soaker!
Lastly, we headed into session powerful set of worship songs. We are so grateful for our talented band and tech team that came up to camp with us! Kacy preached tonight from John 11 about how Christ makes all things new and grants us freedom. it’s our prayer that our students will cast off their old selves and spend the rest of camp in God’s freedom (Ephesians 4:24).
Thanks for all your support and prayers leading up to camp. Please continue to lift up our students’ safety and thank God for sharing such awesome volunteers with us! Pray for protection for our band, speaker, and everyone here at Lake Ann Camp.
